A free support group for mamas, by mamas.

No therapy. No clinical intake. No pressure. Just a safe space to talk honestly about what pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood actually feels like. Open to all women, mamas, and birthing people.

WHY THIS EXISTS

Too many mamas are doing this alone.

The postpartum period is one of the most vulnerable seasons of a person's life. And for many women and birthing people, it is also the loneliest. Friends do not always get it. Family is not always close. And the healthcare system rarely leaves space for mamas to be honest about what they are actually feeling.

A peer support group does not replace therapy. It fills the space therapy cannot reach: the 6am feeding, the moment you feel like you are failing, the thought you would never say out loud. It is a room full of mamas who get it because they are living it too.

  • Isolation is a maternal mental health risk

Lack of social support is one of the strongest predictors of postpartum depression and anxiety.

  • Community changes outcomes

Peer support reduces symptoms of postpartum depression and increases a mama's likelihood of seeking further care when needed.

  • Cost should never be a barrier

Every group BGMH Foundation runs is free, so no mama has to choose between support and her budget.

Our Current Support Group

Soulful Rest

A Self-Care Circle for Mamas

A gentle, grounding space for mamas to slow down, be honest, and be poured back into. Each session includes thought-provoking conversation, shared experiences, and community. You do not have to have it together to show up.

  • Virtual

  • Every Friday at 1 pm PST

  • Facilitated by Perinatal Support Specialist

What to expect

You do not need to prepare anything. You do not need to share if you are not ready. You just need to show up.

  • Small and intentional

Groups are kept small so every mama has space to be seen and heard. You will never feel lost in a crowd.

  • Peer-led, not clinical

This is not therapy. It is community. A trained facilitator guides the conversation but every voice in the room matters equally.

  • Safe and nonjudgmental

Everything shared in the group stays in the group. You are encouraged to be as honest as you want to be.

  • Culturally affirming

Our groups center the experiences of women and birthing people of color. You will not have to explain your experience here.
